Peace Village of Newport visited the Rotary Club of Newport today. This group shared their goal of providing peace education for children in Central Lincoln County. Rotary Club of Newport said goodbye to inbound exchange student Nico Lenz from Bolivia last Thursday. What a wonderful experience it was this year getting to know Nico.

Neighbors for Kids is dedicated to supporting families during out-of-school- time hours by providing quality after school and summer programs to pre-school and school aged children in a safe, affordable, fun learning environment.

Today, Newport Rotary recognized the January Students of the Month Halle Hargett and Brennen Wood. Halle has earned a 4.0 GPA, lettered in four sports and is undecided on her future college. Brennen has also earned a 4.0 GPA, has competed in swimming and baseball and plans to attend the U.S Coast Guard Academy. What impressive students!!

At today's Newport Rotary meeting, Cherilyn Bertges of the OBRC described how the new bottle drop facility will serve Newport. The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is a member-owned cooperative corporation in charge picking up and processing nearly 100% of all containers redeemed in Oregon.
